Preciso™ – Intra-Uterine Device Simulator

The correct placement of this medical device is, in fact, essential for a secure contraception and women’s safety. This procedure is usually considered “blind” (i.e. without the use of an ultrasound machine) for many clinicians and often this attitude brings to badly positioned IUDs with consequent discomfort for the woman, risk in some cases of uterine perforation and/or bleeding and high costs associated with the incorrect procedure.

PRECISO^TM is an advanced simulator for intrauterine device (IUD) insertion.

PRECISO^TM  is the only simulator in the world that allows users to acquire the necessary skills to learn how to correctly insert real IUD in total safety and to use ultrasound images from real patients to check the positioning of the intrauterine device.

PRECISO^TM  is equipped with a simulated transvaginal probe and it provides real ultrasound images after the IUD placement. The user is also able to measure the uterus length using a real hysterometer as well as perform all the steps for a correct IUD placement. Uterus’ length can vary depending on the clinical case selected from the instructor. The uterus can be anteverted as well as retroverted depending on the scenario.
